Planning Blog For the Final Task: Schedule, Location, Participants, Health & Safety

Schedule

On February 16th- 21st, I decided on my pitch for the final task, researched different genres, focused my research on the conventions within the thriller genre, and conducted title research. Once I completed researching, I began to draft out my scripts. On February 25th- 27th, I collected all of my ideas and formulated a sound and dialogue script and shooting script. On February 28th- March 2nd, I will work on creating the titles and storyboard for my opening sequence. I plan on making my storyboard as detailed as possible so that I will be able to film and edit efficiently for this bigger project. On March 15th-19th, I will attempt to start filming my final task. During this time, I will create and use a filming schedule with my actors to ensure that nothing will interfere with the filming of the movie. I believe that if I would like to start filming before spring break, the majority of filming during this time will have to be done on the weekend. During the week of spring break on March 22nd-26th, when students are out of school, I plan to film the remaining scenes and refilm. March 27th- April 2nd is when I will thoroughly review all of the shots I have recorded to ensure that I do not have to refilm any of them. In the event I need to refilm, I will do so during this time. Finally, on  April 3rd- 16th, I will work on editing and putting the final touches on my final task.

Location

There are not many places I could think of or would like to film this movie. The first location that came to mind was the park by my house where Jayden could be riding his bicycle and bump into Alexsia. But I also thought about recording at a park near a school since he is a student coming from school. I have not decided which park I will film at, but it will be out of these two park locations. My second location would be at my house. In the predicament I can not film at my house, I will move locations to my aunt's house. For the last location, in the dreamland, I would like to record in an alleyway but I need to look around my area to weigh out my options. If I do not find an alleyway, I could record it in an empty street within my neighborhood.

Health & Safety

To guarantee safety throughout the production of my film, I have created a plan for our health and safety. My mother, father, and older cousin will act as the safety team and oversee all parts of the filming process. I felt that this was necessary because the majority of my scenes, if not done correctly and carefully, can present some type of danger to it. For the scene where Jayden crashes into Alexsia with his bike, I plan to fake the crash and only make it appear as if he crashed into her. Although the crash won't happen it is still risky and there is the possibility of disaster. Taking this into account, I will have a member of the safety team readily available with a first aid kit in the event that someone actually gets hurt. In the scene where the driver is driving toward Alexsia, I plan to have an experienced driver driving moderately slow. But to make the scene as intense as if the driver was driving fast and maintain safety, I will use the car headlights and fast pace editing to my advantage. I'll see you next time!
