Preparing to Film my Final Task: Filming Equipment Alterations
I have successfully cleaned and organized the rooms that I will be utilizing throughout my film. The next concern I have decided to tackle in preparation to film my final task is in regards to the film camera and angling. In past projects, I filmed my shots utilizing my phone or a family member's phone. But I have always noticed that I would run out of storage when I was in the middle of filming. This was not only annoying because it happened in the midst of my filming, but it hindered my ability to maintain consistent camera quality since I was switching from phone to phone. Not to mention that it was inconvenient when it came to editing since I had footage coming from multiple places. This time around I want to prevent these storage problems as much as possible. It is almost inevitable that I will run out of storage since this is the longest project to be done so far. To solve this problem and prevent future inconveniences, I have asked one of my family members, who does photography, to use one of their cameras. Since I am a clumsy person, I requested an older camera that they don't use on a consistent basis to give me a sense of security. They agreed to allow me to utilize one of their old cameras to film, but I have to clear out some of the information on it so I can have as much available storage as possible. I am so thankful that they are allowing me to borrow the camera for a smoother filming process. I will not only have an abundance of storage to record my work with, but the camera quality will also be better than before. During my last task, the music video, I borrowed my sister's phone tripod so that the shots would be steady. In the time of using the tripod, I realized how beneficial it is to use one while trying to record a variety of angles. The phone tripod made it easier to capture these angles and move the camera. Since my final task also incorporates many angles and shots I plan to use one again. But since I plan to use an actual camera and not the camera on a phone, I will need a legitimate camera tripod. I inquired about a tripod to the family member who is allowing me to borrow their camera and they are uncertain if they still own a compatible one. In the event that they do not have the tripod, I plan to go to my local Best Buy and purchase a camera tripod. With the alterations to my filming equipment, I feel even more prepared and ready to film. I am looking forward to beginning filming my opening sequence. I'll see and update you next time!
